Even if he was not born in Hawaii, it seems that under our constitution the the time and place to challenge should have occured in one of two ways: 1) a State could have challenged during the Electoral College process, and/or 2) the President of the Senate (Dick Cheney) could have required certification of qualifications during the Electoral College process. Cheney was silent, perhaps not doing his job, and no State raised the issue during the Electoral College or in Federal Court. So, at least for 2008-2012, the issue is perhaps dead.

Also, even if he is found to have a defective birth certificate (or it shows some embarrassing fact), it will be difficult for it to have much political import — as he was a baby and the doings were out of his control.

The more troubling events surrounding his citizenship claims are perhaps in his college school admission records. Do we know what citizenship he claimed to secure his entrance to college, especially to Harvard? A claim of Kenyan or Indonesian likely would have greatly increased his chances for admission — do we know what citizenship or other information he claimed in order to get admitted? Are these records public and open to inspection?
