    This is a smart move! You cannot allow these politicians to get away with using the birthers when it is convenient for them to get votes, but then dumping them and marginalizing them when it is no longer convenient. I think a formal pledge should be presented to all the Republicans regarding this issue and ask them to sign/endorse it. That way you will have it in writing who is for you and who is against you.

    If the birthers truly are the most powerful political voice in America right now, that power must be recognized and used to advance the cause.

    Maybe Donald Trump should be the first to sign the pledge as he is the one who has really brought this into the mainstream. If he is a true believer, he should have no problem doing so.

    Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

    Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

    Dear Dr. Manning, you are absolutely right; Obama is quite startled at our power and consistency- ‘BIRTHERS’. All you friends in this divinely inspired movement around the world, watch the CNN video of Obama’s speech at the WH Correspondants’ Dinner! He is indeed “poking fun” at us. In addition, he sounds frustrated with his Hollywood friends and supporters who are now turning against him :) In my opinion Obama is more pothetic than ever during this speech addressing his like-minded audience!
