Hey Jerry, when the “private sector” takes its jobs overseas like Manning says, they no longer provide jobs to Americans. He is clearly right about the jobs lost never being replaced again, that there are only a certain number of slots in the American job market.. and the number of slots continues to drop each and every day. The wealthy people also hoard all their money in banks, securities, stocks, commodities, and real estate. When you hoard, you don’t contribute to an economy, and the economy gets smaller and weaker.
The private sector only works for itself, does not have a preference on who works for them.. they go wherever it is cheaper.. whether it be through production of goods in private prisons or overseas to Indians and Chinese, or whatever other 3rd world country will produce for low cost labor.
Yes, the government could theoretically create jobs by cornering other private industries, perhaps even nationalizing some of them.
Yes that would be socialism, but anything is better than doing nothing… and the rest of the country is out of ideas at this point.. they might as well just fess up and become socialist, because it can’t get any worse than it is now.
The aspect of Russian Communism wasn’t actually communist since they still used capital, and because they were in competition with the rest of the world. They did import and export goods, so they were also traders and productive. The reason why their system was flawed was because they had a tyrannical central power, (just like the United States currently has), they were actually an oligarchy (just like the United States), and they were even more aggressive in their quest to take over other countries and convert them to their system (which the US does, they call it democratizing them.. when in it is more like indoctrination) The difference with America, is that it allows for more choice with brands, it serves to apply the theory of democracy, yet does not practice it to the letter.. and it allows for more free speech and such… of course with many restrictions which ordinary people care not to learn about. All in all, the freedoms that Americans still enjoy have been able to keep people from going completely crazy, but its tyrannical government only works for its self-preservation, continued expansion, and still uses big stick diplomacy rather than peaceful diplomatic solutions.
It treats its citizens like garbage.. people might as well get a tattoo of a bar code, or have an implanted microchip, because authorities seem to know everything about everyone, and people walk around estranged to this fact. They also believe that the government doesn’t target US citizens, and sometimes kill them when they want to. Do some research on “Chip” Tatum, who was ex-CIA, who was ordered to smuggle cocaine into the US during the Nicaraguan-Contra era, and was assassinated only a few years ago for having spoken out against the government, instead of keeping it secret. There are tons of conspiracies against the public, if you care to do your research, and we continue to be dazzled to this concept and led like sheep to the slaughter.
There are hundreds of problems with America, and all i see is a bunch of Manning freaks in here talking about how horrible Obama is.. He is literally the tip of the iceberg in a stinking cesspool. We are stuck in this created world of confusion and irony. We have no other way to live because this is the system that was designed for us before we were even born, and many propaganda rhetorical programming has been designed so that people like you can complain about Obama, and not about anything else that is important.
Why are we fucked? Because ordinary people haven’t a clue what is going on, and have no other ideas on how to live. Thats the plain truth.

I disagree with the statement that ‘the government should find jobs for Americans’
It is the private sector that produces. Not the Government.
When the Government creates a new job or position it is funded by taxes.
The private sector produces while the ever-expanding Government seeks creative ways to punishes thoes who produce through ever-increasing taxes.
I say that there exist a tipping point by which the producers are taxed [ punished ] to the point that it would no longer be a benefit to produce.
Its the old ‘pain verses pleasure’ scenario. When it becomes too painful to produce, expand and create jobs then unemployment will continue to rise.

The concept of ‘Spending yourself out of a recession’ means punishing the producers even more in the hopes that it will cause the producers to thrive even more to the point of expanding business, employing more people. Thereby growing the economy’ This is the kind of logic that only a ‘cult worshipers can believe in’

A Sound person knows that if you reduce the punishment for producing the MORE WILL BE PRODUCED. Thereby growing business, decreasing un-employment. Causing the tax base to increase.
So you reduce taxes allowing the base to expand. You receive less from the individual yet through increased productivity the Government would receive more. Or it could be said ‘Intelligent farming increases the yield’

Would you agree that we must limit the growth of Government and what taxes are levied? Do you realize that we are swiftly moving into Communism, where the population are mere wards of the state?
The whole concept of increasing taxes on businesses to encourage growth is illogical.
It is the small businesses that employee the majority of our citizens. How would increasing the burden on small business be good for reducing unemployment?
You call reducing the burden on the producers ‘trickle down economics’ I say to punish the producers by the ammount they produce while expecting them to flourish is more like ‘trickle down poverty’
