  • Dear , Dr. Manning .

This comment is solely in response to your Middle Passage ( Arch ) .
I know nothing more about it then what you have aired on your site .

I have been a builder all my life – a career that spans 40 + years – you might say I know a little bit about it .

    The Idea …

What if your church purchased a cheap tear down deeper into Harlem and knocked it down in order to replace it with affordable housing. You could get grants , low interest loans , and create fundraising events to finance the project – Reach out to Dr. Carson .

This new housing project that your church would build could be 5,6,7…
    Levels ( floors).
You could fish for black Architects in academia , city code offices …
Their are plenty of black masons ,
Electricians, plumbers …right there in NYC .
Several design contests could be sent to black students in your area .

Start with this smaller project first .
If what you say is true – then the learning curve should be gained on a much safer structure and as much as possible out of the stress of the media’s criticisms …

Do not hire any white men for any part of this project, neither lawyers, bankers , inspectors…

Finally rid this curse you speak of from your black brothers and sisters . And tackle the Arch having prepared quietly.

God bless you , your family, and your work .

    Respectfully,
    Derryll Brudzinski
