  • Things aren’t looking good for Dr. Manning this time….some troubling things I’ve personally noticed:
Some of the students go to nice colleges, so aren’t brainwashed. And? The brainwashing accusation isn’t about academic success, if the students are intelligent or not, but about Dr. Manning’s position. It’s about being pressured or manipulated into viewing him as a cult-like figure, having authority surpassing even their own parents. Ironically, Manning boasting about Sharif getting booted out by his parents…only ENFORCES this, giving the accusation much more credit about it being a cult.

Next, the infamous secret recording tape of Manning trying to get his adultery on with an 18 year old girl….Dr. Manning claims this is a “doctored” tape, and the police didn’t arrest him, so, hey, he’s innocent. He’d only be guilty if he was arrested, right? Terrible logic. The police appeared to have dropped it due to the girl being legal age, but the troubling part they should have focused on was him talking about being attracted to her before. How long “before”? How many years “before”? Before she was 18? If Manning is attracted to girls under 18, then yeah, there’s definite concern there, with his position over the school and female students.
As for the tape being “doctored”….as someone who has quite frequently worked in audio editing, that would be the best doctored tape I’ve ever heard in my life. This contradicts Manning’s characterization of Sharif as a “dropout” and “thug”, boasting about Sharif never graduating, for Sharif to be able to produce such a masterpiece fake. The reason it would be so impressive, is Manning’s tone throughout the recording remains consistent. It sounds like it’s from the same casual, calm tone of conversation. If it was pieced together from years of multiple clips, the tone would vary wildly, especially since most of the Manning Report he can get pretty loud and excited. It would take countless, exhausting hours to produce a “doctored” tape that good.
Next, Atlah has no locked basements! Since the accusations seem to come from a few years ago, how on earth would that be proven? Couldn’t a door have been swapped or lock removed in an hour or less?
Finally, the church has served a million meals! Great! Amen! But how does this relate to any of the allegations? Good works make everything right?

I’m no lawyer, judge, or prosecutor (Manning better be glad!) but I doubt anyone is buying these ridiculous explanations and excuses. As a Christian, I wish Manning could swallow his pride and humble himself enough to admit sinful wrongdoing, then work on healing and repair, and salvage whatever little reputation the church has left, but it appears he’d much rather be humbled before Jesus. (Uh-oh) May I be proven wrong!
